{"id":4226,"date":"2016-08-12T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-08-12T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.globalizationpartners.com\/2016\/08\/12\/news-the-boom-in-the-global-market-for-language-services\/"},"modified":"2021-01-03T11:58:08","modified_gmt":"2021-01-03T11:58:08","slug":"news-the-boom-in-the-global-market-for-language-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.globalizationpartners.com\/2016\/08\/12\/news-the-boom-in-the-global-market-for-language-services\/","title":{"rendered":"News: The Boom in the Global Market for Language Services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new report by independent market research company, Common Sense Advisory, highlights the tremendous growth across the globe for outsourced translation and interpreting services and technology.<\/p>\n<p>The researcher&#8217;s annual study of the language industry shows the market will surpass $40 billion USD in 2016.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.globalizationpartners.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/gpi-global20translation20boom-home_399x262.jpg\" alt=\"gpi-global translation boom-home\" width=\"399\" height=\"262\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Growth is currently at 5.52% per year, slightly lower than last year&#8217;s rate of 6.46%.<\/p>\n<p>The demand is driven by continued growth in global mobile and e-commerce, the Internet of Things (IOT) and legislation that requires access to language services for immigrants, refugees, public safety and the courts.<\/p>\n<p>Don DePalma, CSA Research&#8217;s founder and Chief Strategy Officer, says the demand continues because the market for outsourced language services and supporting technology is of great importance to the businesses, government agencies, non-profits, and individuals who produce or consume information.<\/p>\n<p>As organizations both large and small address more languages, the firm predicts that the language services industry will continue to grow and that the market will increase to $45 billion USD by 2020.<\/p>\n<h5>The Language Industry is Growing<\/h5>\n<p>In March 2014, Inc.com\u00a0Magazine chose the translation industry as\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inc.com\/jill-krasny\/why-translation-services-is-a-top-industry-to-start-a-business.html\"> one of the best industries to start a business in 2014<\/a>.
