The mobile payment app, Tez, will offer a set of payment options that go beyond products like Google Wallet or Android Pay.<\/p>\n<p>Tez&#8217;s payment options will include support for Unified Payments Interface (UPI), Paytm and MobiKwik.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"large\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/localized20mobile20payment20app20in20india.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Google&#8217;s digital payment expansion plans in India can be credited to India&#8217;s rapidly growing internet user base and phone sales. More than 50% of India&#8217;s internet users will use digital payments by 2020. This will result in the digital payment space <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bcg.com\/en-in\/d\/press\/25July2016-digital-payments-2020-making-500-billion-ecosystem-in-india-39417\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reportedly<\/a> growing to $500 billion by 2020, contributing 15% to India&#8217;s GDP.<\/p>\n<p>Another one of Google&#8217;s recent investments in India is its <a href=\"https:\/\/venturebeat.com\/2016\/09\/27\/google-india-all-in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Next Billion Users (NBU) program<\/a>. As the name states, this program is Google&#8217;s initiative to reach the next billion internet users.
