The researchers looked into the top eCommerce sites globally.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-34088\" src=\"https:\/\/www.globalizationpartners.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/curated-top-ecommerce-site-are-multilingual.jpg\" alt=\"curated-top-ecommerce-site-are-multilingual\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.globalizationpartners.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/curated-top-ecommerce-site-are-multilingual.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.globalizationpartners.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/curated-top-ecommerce-site-are-multilingual-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The study shows that 46% of the top 50 eCommerce sites offer content in four or more languages. This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalizationpartners.com\/language-facts\/\">language expansion<\/a> opens up opportunities for growth through delivering native experiences across their target regions. It\u2019s interesting to see that 16 of these sites got more than 20% of their total traffic from cross-border users. eCommerce giants such as <strong>AliExpress<\/strong>, <strong>Steam<\/strong>, <strong>Booking.com<\/strong>, <strong>Samsung<\/strong> and <strong>Ikea<\/strong> are the leaders in terms of global traffics, according to research.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span>Traffic from foreign languages was more evident for <strong>Apple<\/strong>, <strong>Samsung<\/strong> and <strong>Shein<\/strong> \u2013 who claimed to get more than 50% of their total visits from cross-border users. The shift in multilingual online shopping behavior is attributed to pandemic, which retailers see as opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Furthermore, cross-border online sales in China continue to grow. By the end of 2022, it is projected that China will divert more than <strong>50% of its retail sales online<\/strong>. Nowadays, 75% of China\u2019s population use internet.
