As indicated by its name, slide layers provide an extra layer of content that appears over the main slide. You can add many layers to a slide, which provides a lot of flexibility on how you want your content to be displayed. To add a layer, click the <strong>New Layer <\/strong>icon in the <strong>Slide Layers <\/strong>panel.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-33064\" src=\"https:\/\/www.globalizationpartners.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Slide-Layers.png\" alt=\"slide layers panel\" width=\"503\" height=\"350\" \/><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, go to the <strong>Insert <\/strong>tab on the ribbon and click <strong>Slide Layer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-33064\" src=\"https:\/\/www.globalizationpartners.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/02.png\" alt=\"insert slide layer\" width=\"331\" height=\"371\" \/><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Duplicate and Copy Layers<\/h2>\n<p>To duplicate layers that already exist on the same slide, select the layer(s) in the <strong>Slide Layers <\/strong>panel and click <strong>Duplicate Selected Layer <\/strong>icon.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-33064\" src=\"https:\/\/www.globalizationpartners.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/03.png\" alt=\"duplicate slide layer\" width=\"360\" height=\"403\" \/><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To copy layers from one slide to another:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Select the layer(s) you want to copy in the <strong>Slide Layers <\/strong>panel, and then press Ctrl+C or right-click and choose <strong>Copy<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Go to the slide where you want to place the layer(s), and then press Ctrl+V or right-click and choose <strong>Paste<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Rename Layers<\/h2>\n<p>It&#8217;s always a good idea to name your layers with a simple, descriptive name to make it easy to identify when you\u2019re creating triggers. To name a layer:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Double-click the layer&#8217;s name in the <strong>Slide Layers <\/strong>panel to open it for editing.<\/li>\n<li>Type the new name.<\/li>\n<li>Press Enter on your keyboard.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Change Layer Properties<\/h2>\n<p>You can change the properties for each layer on a slide. Select the layer(s) you want to edit, and then click the icon.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-33064\" src=\"https:\/\/www.globalizationpartners.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/04.png\" alt=\"slide layer properties\" width=\"360\" height=\"403\" \/><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<p>Make your choices as needed and click <strong>Close<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>You have slide visibility options.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-33064\" src=\"https:\/\/www.globalizationpartners.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/05.png\" alt=\"slide properties visibility in Storyline 360\" width=\"320\" height=\"353\" \/><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here are the visibility options.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<table class=\" aligncenter\" border=\"1\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 25%;\"><strong>Hide other slide layers<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>Hides all the layers except the base layer, when the current layer is visible to the audience.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Hide objects on base layer<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>This hides all the objects on the base layer, when the current layer is visible to the audience.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Hide slide layer when timeline finishes<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>This hides the layer when the timeline reaches the end.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Allow seeking<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>If the main layer has a seek bar, use this option to control how the seek bar affects the layer.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Choose <strong>Yes<\/strong> to make the layer content synchronize with the seek bar.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>No <\/strong>to ignore synchronization with the seek bar.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Automatically decide <\/strong>to let Storyline decide whether the seek bar is synchronized with layer content or not.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You can find different options at the base layer to control the slide navigation and gestures for the buttons and swipe. You can choose which buttons or swipes to add or remove, and you can customize these options for specific slides. For example, you may choose to only have the \u201cNext\u201d button for this layer with no option \u201cBack\u201d button.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-33064\" src=\"https:\/\/www.globalizationpartners.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/06.png\" alt=\"slide navigation in Storyline 360\" width=\"425\" height=\"146\" \/><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<p>You can also customize the player features. For example, you can choose whether to use the default player features or add custom ones for a specific slide. Similarly, you may need to add resources for a specific slide or remove the notes of this slide, etc.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-33064\" src=\"https:\/\/www.globalizationpartners.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/07.png\" alt=\"player features in Storyline 360\" width=\"425\" height=\"146\" \/><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><\/div>\n<p>You can also reset all the settings to default by clicking on the <strong>Reset<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Hide Individual Base Layer Objects<\/h2>\n<p>Layer properties give you a feature to Hide objects on the base layer, which allows you to hide everything on the main layer.
