{"id":30518,"date":"2021-03-17T01:06:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-17T01:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.globalizationpartners.com\/?p=30518"},"modified":"2021-03-17T20:23:32","modified_gmt":"2021-03-17T20:23:32","slug":"navajo-language-translation-that-is-out-of-this-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.globalizationpartners.com\/2021\/03\/17\/navajo-language-translation-that-is-out-of-this-world\/","title":{"rendered":"Navajo Language Translation That Is out of This World."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Many linguistic endeavors take place at universities, research facilities, classrooms and cultural centers, however, there is a fascinating and worthy linguistic endeavor happening now that is out of this world\u2026literally.<\/p>\n<p>In collaboration with the Navajo Nation, NASA\u2019s Perseverance Mars Rover Mission is using the Navajo language to name landmarks of scientific interest discovered on its Mars mission.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mars.nasa.gov\/mars2020\/\">Mars Perseverance<\/a>\u00a0rover mission is long term program of robotic exploration on Mars.\u00a0 It is part of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mars.nasa.gov\/\">NASA&#8217;s Mars Exploration Program<\/a>. The Mars Perseverance mission will include a range of science goals including attempting to answer questions about the potential for life on Mars. The mission will study habitable conditions on Mars and also search for signs of past microbial life.<\/p>\n<p>The mission will also study and test technologies\u00a0that could be used for future human expeditions to Mars.
